Tara in her new pool

Just like I said in yesterday’s post, Yay Summer! Like her family, Tara is excited that summer has finally rolled around.

Tara will be one-year old on July 6th.  Where has the time gone!?  It’s been a joy to go through the seasons with my dog, as she seemed filled with wonder at each passing one.  She loved to chase leaves as they fell in autumn, play in the snow when winter blew in,  sniff blooming flowers in the spring, and now that summer is here, it’s pool time!

Seeing Tara in her new pool, I’m going to quote a famous summer-time movie:  “We’re gunna need a bigger pool.”  (Jaws: “You’re gunna need a bigger boat.”)   That pool was full of water about five minutes before I caught this picture!  But, for now, she’s happily playing in her little pool & staying cool.

For those of you new to my Blog, we got Tara from Diane Cornish at Von Gluckhaus Kennels (read all about it here).  Shoot Diane an email or give her a ring if you’re looking to purchase a great GSD:

We got Tara last August, and this picture was taken the night we brought her home.  She sure didn’t stay that small for long! Happy birthday a little early to our awesome baby girl.

The Boss & I took a trip to California last week to visit my 94-year old grandmother (Boss’ great grandmother!) and my Aunt & Uncle.  It was The Boss’ first time to California, and also his first time to see the ocean.  I was so excited for this milestone, as I love the ocean and knew The Boss would, too.  Here are some of my favorite pictures from our trip.

My Aunt took us to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach and it was amazing!  And, of all the pictures I took, this is one of my favorites!

And finally, our trip to Bolsa Chica State Beach.

Thanks to my Aunt & Uncle for hosting us and being our tour guides.  It was a great trip & we can’t wait to go back soon!
